چکیده
ABSTRACT: Bovine paratuberculosis causes chronic, incurable diarrhea and weight loss, resulting in decreased cattle production. The disease is caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. (MAP), an obligate intracellular mycobactin-dependent mycobacterium that replicates slowly the host has heightened environmental resistance. In countries where found damage been quantified, direct indirect economic losses are extremely high. Local epidemiological data of paramount importance for implementation control programs. Our objective was to verify whether present commercial dairy herds different mesoregions RS. Therefore, a prospective, cross-sectional observational study performed on from five RS state, Brazil. Milk samples taken individual cows farms were tested using ELISA tests classified as negative, suspicious, or positive. containing at least one positive cow, we conducted convenience sampling feces directly rectal ampulla identify MAP through PCR. Of 362 tested, 20 seroreactive two mesoregions. PCR all positive; with negative results probably indicate ingested eliminated without causing infection. We likely endemic northwest northeast

Adaptive Test Schemes for Control of Paratuberculosis in Dairy Cows
Paratuberculosis is a chronic infection that in dairy cattle causes reduced milk yield, weight loss, and ultimately fatal diarrhea. Subclinical animals can excrete bacteria (Mycobacterium avium ssp. paratuberculosis, MAP) in feces and infect other animals. Farmers identify the infectious animals through a variety of test-strategies, but are challenged by the lack of perfect tests. Frequent test...

The objective of this study was the serological, bacteriological and molecular diagnosis, as well as the molecular characterization of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (Map) in adult cows of five Colombian dairy herds. Serum samples were tested by an indirect absorbed enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA-C). All fecal samples were tested by pooled culture. After that, fecal sampl...

The objective of this work was to evaluate hematological, biochemical and ruminant parameters for diagnosis and treatment of the left displaced abomasum (LDA) in dairy cows, in the Plateau Region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Ruminant fluid, blood and urine samples were collected from 20 cows suffering LDA and from 20 healthy cows (control). The cows with LDA showed lower values of daily milk p...

Skin lesions were found in two 3–4-year-old Holstein cows in a dairy farm in Shiraz. Lesions were distributed mostly around the neck, forelimbs, hindlimbs, and bilateral of midline portion and varied from nodule-like structure to patch with extensive accumulation of crust. Skin scraping samples were taken from each animal and direct smears were prepared, stained with Giemsa and observed under a...
